Nice resort, good for families who are happy to self cater. It was good value for money.

First impression of the property and cottages is that they are stunning. So picturesque. We had a two bed cottage and a one bed upstairs duplex cottage. The two bed was far superior. Nice pool and lounge area and good buffet breakfast.

Property feels a bit run down. Needs some modernisation and upgrades. Service was slow and it’s difficult to get exactly what you order. We did have issues on check in - one cottage not ready at 2 pm and on checkout there were many charges on our room which were incorrectly applied. Lots of debris around and pool and pool beds were old and some broken.

Our second stay at this property - we loved the privacy and convenience of the family suite. The staff were very accommodating to our 4 year old daughter, and made the stay very special.

The pool was a little cold, but fine once you got used to it!

Simply good, not exceed anything.

I am guest Relations myself and decided to explore with my family places that normally my guests will talk about when they visit Franschhoek. What I liked was the location/the scenery, rooms are super specious, and the heated jacuzzi.

The stuff is not engaging. They walk around without name tags, you don't know who's who. The ring your room all the time asking when are you checking out. I remember when we went for breakfast, we were a family of 4 and we spotted a table with 3 seats which was in a better view. We politely asked the runner if we may have an extra chair for the table, and she pointed to another table saying "you may grab one there" and walk away. That was disappointing and I couldn't match that behavior with the hotel. A night before during dinner, my husband ordered a dish that came with their fresh baked bread, he asked if he may have an extra bread and the runner quickly said the dish only comes with only one slice. We understand that but we wanted an extra bread but it was a mission. I feel like she could have brought the bread as requested and just bill it accordingly if the slice of bread is that difficult to get. Everything else was great but stuff, not accommodative at all. Even the bar area staff was so cold, chased us out while we wanted to sit there to enjoy the music. Saying that only people who dine at the bar can seat and buy drinks there. However we already are to another outlet at the hotel, so we were full, just wanted drinks to the bar. But staff there was so difficult and we had to point out few people who were just sitting and drinking...until they let us.

You could hear traffic as the top floor rooms are not soundproofed The bathroom smelled as no airflow to ventilate the shower could of been cleaned more frequently, The cupboard door was hanging off as well

Unexceptional but very friendly staff

Wonderful setting and great spa. Loved the extra sized bath and delicious breakfast.

Room was poorly set up. There was no soundproofing and we could hear our neighbours quite clearly. Spa furniture was broken and tatty.

Good location and staff . Rooms are well furnished . We were not happy with our first room and the front desk staff promptly attended to it

Quality is not what it used to be since the dream resorts take over . A lot of maintenance and upkeep needed . Saw the senior managers chatting casually over breakfast when there was a lot of work to be done

Loved coming back to our room after our dinner in town and the blinds were closed, the slippers put neatly next to each side of the bed on a cloth and the chocolates. Loved the personal touch in the room on arrival with a welcome card.

The two bedroomed chalet was spacious, the rooms clean and very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was extensive and the food good. The hotel itself is in excellent condition and well located to nearby Franschhoek. We loved our previous stay at the hotel last year, hence our return this year.

Le Franschhoek is beautifully set up as a villa hotel. Your car can be parked right next to your villa (which is more of a bungalow type) and the inside space is ample. The insolation is good too. A spacious kitchen is provided should you want to do self catering. There is also plenty of space for the contents of your luggage. The staff is very friendly.

This is a lovely well maintained property on the outskirts of Franschhoek ( There is a free shuttle 3 times a day ). The staff were welcoming and very professional. We had a Garden Suite in the grounds which was glorious. Breakfast was delicious.
